The names of 35 of those signing this note are on a list of 82 Marines who were assigned to the Second Battalion, 7th Marines. 26 of the signers went to D Company; 6 to Easy Company and 3 to Fox Company.
Fred Bevfoden (Easy), Ernest Caldwell, Glen Cramer, Conrad Dorn and Roque Flores (Dog) were all KIA during the Chosin Reservoir battle.
