Unknown Marine with parka and thermal (Mickey Mouse) boots. Parkas had spun glass in them and most of us didn't wear them. Thermal boots were a problem on patrols.

1st Marine Division - Korea
NCO School - Spring 1953

In the Fall of 1952, 2ndLt Jim Clifton relieved 2ndLt Henry Huntzinger as Commander of the 2nd Platoon. In the Spring of 1953, 2ndLt Jim Elkins relieved me and Jim Clifton and I went off to serve as instructors with the 1st Marine Division NCO School.

We had about 100 replacement sergeants in training, 50% of which was night training and thorough indoctrination in patrolling tactics.
