Delta Co. Combat patrol apprehended 2 VCS at BS 636957. During interrogation it was found that 1 was a VC Cadre Leader and the other
was a VC supporter. The supporter agreed to show the patrol a cave. At the cave the VC supporter attempted to escape and was shot and
killed. The Cadre Leader was forwarded to BN. HQ. on the first transportation. 07:45 Hrs.

Delta Co. Combat patrol led to a cave at BS 636957. Cave was 150' L X 3' W X 5 1/2 ' H. Cave was fortified with logs. Cave destroyed with

Delta Co. Combat patrol while embarking on a boat at BS 619004 received 1 round of carbine fire from an unknown number of VC located at
BS 623005. Marines returned fire with 4 rounds of 7.62 and conducted a search of the area apprehending 1 VCS, who was believed to have
knowledge of the VC that fired on the patrol. However, after interrogation of the VCS it was determined that he had no knowledge of the

Delta Co. Received several rounds of small arms fire from an unknown number of VC located at BT 624008. One Marine was wounded

Delta Co. Reported vicinity coord BT633005, patrol encountered one VC on trail. VC pulled carbine from brush and fired wounding one
Marine. VC disappeared behind brush and 5 to 7 VC vicinity coord BT 631004, BT 631007 opened fire with small arms and automatic
weapon from two different positions. Patrol immediately deployed sending 500 rounds of small arms, artillery and 81's requested.
Marine observed 2 VC fall, VC broke contact. Search of area was conducted finding drag marks of VC wounded. Marine was Med Evac. 07:10 Hrs.
6 May: Page 33. Information:
Delta Co. Reported vicinity coord. BS 628993, that approximately 200 women and children approached the Marine Security Force, apparently
to protest. They reached the Marine positions and dropped some pamphlets without making a protest or demonstration. Marines dispatched
to surround area for security and were unable to talk to the people. At this time the people left the area. Pamphlets will be forwarded on first
available transportation. 10:45 Hrs.
6 May: Page 30. Information gained from Vietnamese Nationals.
Delta Co. A local source reported at 041600H there were 50 North Vietnamese with weapons ranging in age from 20-23 years old. Also, there
were 24 Guerrillas accompanying the North Vietnamese, only 11 of these were armed. They arrived In SON TRA and TAN HY hamlets and
the VC set two booby traps consisting of M-26 grenades. One was detonated by Marines the other one was set 500 meters away and was
untouched. The source states that the VC is planning to attack the Delta combat base in the near future. 12:00 Hrs.

Delta Co. Reported at 16:00 Hrs. vicinity coord. BT 623006 apprehending one VCS (female) for interrogation following fire fight. (Reference
3.1 this ISUM). At first she stated that her husband was in SON TRA then she stated that he was in the Mountains training with the VC. VCS
had no I.D. card, was processed to ITT at 16:30 Hrs.

A local source stated that at BINH THONG and BINH KY they have 700 VC that will hit the Delta Combat Base (the VC have stated this
to the villagers). They are saying this to the villagers to uphold promises made earlier. At the same time they will attack a CO OP with
mortars. Agent stated the VC were waiting for bad weather and will attack either tonight or tomorrow night depending on the weather. A
local source also reports that there is a Platoon of VC in TRUNG HOA.

Delta Co. reported that while checking boats, a basket boat attempted to escape. The person managed to reach the far shore and escape.

Delta Co. (A). There is a platoon of regular force Viet Cong in TAN HY. This force is equipped with green uniforms, helmets (grass cone shaped
with camouflage covers), and are armed with rifle grenades, automatic weapons, carbines, and M-1 rifles. They are known to have engineer
capabilities with mines, demolitions and Bangalore torpedos. Their intention is to attack Marines in the SON TRA and TAN HY area. (B). The
VC are employing ambushes with three man teams. They are using girls along the trails to warn of the Marines coming. (This tactic was
employed against "D" company on 11 May 1966. see Page 47. above). (C). All Villagers were warned not to go behind the hill located behind
the infirmary BS 623004 as the area was booby trapped. (D). The VC in the SON TRA & TAN HY area are trying to blow up the Amtracks that
cross the river from the "A" company area. They have also stated that they will not allow the Marines to make the villagers of SON TRA &
TAN HY passive in this area, as they did across the river. 08:00 Hrs.

boat traffic on the SONG TRA BONG river" Cpl. Charles Yohn observed fishing line leading from the hooch into the water. Cpl. Yohn removed
Marines from the hooch and after considerable probing with his K-Bar removed the 3 Chi Com grenades. Booby traps destroyed by engineers
at 06:30 Hrs.

Delta Co. There is a local force of approximately 200 VC in the Village of TAN HY. They are equipped with green utilities, roll packs, and armed
with machine guns with drum magazines, sub-machine guns with banana clips, carbines and possibly M-79's. The VC told the villagers to move
to the village of TUYET DIEN and stay there until the VC had a battle with the Marines. The VC plan to use mines against the LVT's. They also
have Mortars (unknown If 60 MM or 81 MM). Some Villagers have already started to move. 08:00 Hrs.

20 rounds of small arms fire was received by the outpost. After the fire fight 4 VC were seen getting into a boat and heading south on the
