Delta Co. Advised of enemy activity. A local source from PHUOC HOA (1) located at BS 665975 that on this date two companies of Viet Cong
moved into PHU LONG area located at BS 6494. BS 6497, BS 6997, BS 6994 and the AN LOC area. Their mission is to attack the Marines in
the BINH GIANG area sometime in the month of June. The two Viet Cong companies are reported to be armed with 60 MM Mortars, MG's, and
Carbines. The VC usually have two VC teams in the PHUOC HO (1) hamlet located at BS 665975. There mission is to observe and get information
about Marines and to assassinate the Committee members of BINH THONG.

at BS 694974. Villagers from all villages and hamlets were to attend. Marines fired 4 rounds of 81 MM Mortars, 3-90 MM tank rounds
and 18-155 MM arty rounds, on the clear ground in the area to disrupt the meeting. Many people seen running from the area. 15:00 Hrs.

Delta Co. Mighty Mite (jeep) traveling on the road from SONG TRA BONG river toward Conn Hill with First Sergeant Carmin (Delta Co.
1st Sgt) and Cpl. Temple (Delta Co. Driver) was attacked just past the hamlet of TAN HY located at BT 619013. A grenade was thrown
in front of the mighty mite followed by 15 rounds of automatic and semi automatic weapons fire from 3 Viet Cong (initial round Killing
Cpl. Temple). First Sergeant Carmin and Marine security guard fired 40-7.62 rounds, threw 1 M-26 grenade in return and Viet Cong
withdrew. Med Evac effected at 17:15 Hrs.
