Korean War
Veterans Memorial

Dedicated July 27, 1995.

"Freedom Is Not Free."

These four words on the wall of the Korean War Veterans Memorial reflect the sentiments of men and women who served in the Korean War---as well as those who fought and sacrificed to preserve democracy throughout our Nation's history.

Quote taken from the National Park Service pamphlet

Korean War Veteran's Memorial

South Wall

On the south side is a black granite wall. Its polished surface mirrors the statues, intermingling the faces etched into the granite.

"BAR Man"

Stainless Steel Statues depict a squad on patrol. This symbolic patrol brings together members of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Marines, and Navy.

"Reflections"

When looking at the etchings in the wall you can see your reflection and can actually feel becoming part of it.

"yesterday"
