Comments: My Father, A. Scott Rossi, passed away today. He fought with 2/7 in Korea and inspire me to join the Marines. Although I never saw combat, he had a bond with you all that will never die. Thanks for your sacrifice. He was happy to find this website and had found some 'old pals' through it. It really made him happy.

Comments: My mothers first husband-Sgt Kenneth Kipp-is listed in the Dog Seven Association KIA list. However, he was a member of Fox Co 2/7 and fought at Fox Hill under the command of Capt.Barber. I recently was reading some of his last letters to my mother prior to his death in combat on 6 Dec 1950. In one of the letters he stated that he was writing to her from another company's tent. I told her that at the time of his death he might have been attatched to D/2/7. She is confused because there is no mention of this in his records or decorations(silver star). I am looking for anyone who new him or is familiar with the circumstances surrounding his death. She still misses him very much.

Comments: I check in every now and then because I know that my Dad would've quietly, secretly preferred me to. He was Navy Pharmacist Mate Second-Class Lowell F. Leibold, G 3/7, 1950-52, and long before he passed in 1994, he taught me this ancient song:

"Arirang, arirang, arirayo, arirang, kogaero nomganda" ('Walking over the peak at Arirang, you left me behind. You will be tired before you reach one mile.')

"Na reul porigo, kasineun nimeun, Simedo mogaso palpyongnanda" ('Walking over the peak at Arirang, the sorrows in my heart are as many as in the sky.')

"Don't ever forget those Jarheads who had to find their way on foot to the coast, from Chosin," he first told me nearly fifty years ago. Middle-aged now, I've never forgotten what the man told me.

I hope Crotts and his old pals' live forever. After all, they've earned the right.

--Happy Birthday, on November 10, and Happy Veterans' Day on November 11--

Comments: My father was a Corpsman with G 3/7 between '51-'52, and he frequently spoke with unabashed fondness for the "Four-Deuce." While a Corpsman with 2/7 in the '70's, at Camp Pendleton, I had the opportunity to work with both 60- and 81mm mortars, but never once saw a 4.2." Very recently, a Marine-pal who was with 1/1 in Vietnam, asked me to try and gather dope on the 4.2, and, frankly, I'm not sure just where to turn. Can anyone lend me a hand, here? As always, I'm obliged beyond description to the men of Korea and the Chosin Reservoir. Thanks a million for your hard service and sacrifice.
