Comments: My unit was Graves Reg. Plt., lst Combat Serv. Group. I was manning a morgue on the Han River the day the 7th passed thru. I had a set of hand clippers and gave haircuts to many 7th Mariner's that day. Many of you guys dropped off excess baggage with me. Cameras, books, extra clothing, etc. Later that day, or the next (can't remember) we heard firing from your direction and knew you were in a hell of a fire fight. I found that action described in Lt. Joe Owens book, "Colder than Hell" and it brought back vivid memories of those days and the crossing of the Han. Good luck to all former members of the 7th, and especially D Co. I envy you for having an association and for your reunions. Semper Fi!

Sal was a WWII vet who I know retired as Captain. I worked with him at Raytheon in Southern Calif in the late 50's, then lost track of him. Last I heard he was in Texas. Great site.

Comments: Thanks to George Crotts for telling me about our hompage.I was with D-2-7 from its inception in Aug. 1959 having come from D-2-6 2nd MARDIV. Was wounded in Seoul on Sept. 26, 1950 while serving as an assistant machine gunner to the gunner Vernon Midkiff. He was wounded also and survived. The illustrious history of the brave Marines of D-2-7 in Korea is perpetuated not only by its documented history but by the members of the Dog 7 Association in their organization as a truly band of brothers. I wrote a book about the Marines in Korea, "Red Blood... Purple Hearts. Semper Fidelis Marines. Remember our brother Marines who were killed in action.
