BRANSON, Mo. - After 30 years, an anticipated 100,000 Vietnam veterans will finally receive the welcome home they deserve in the entertainment town of Branson, Mo., also known as the nation's home for veterans. Operation Homecoming USA's Welcome Home, the first homecoming tribute to Vietnam veterans, is set for June 13-19. Convoys of motorcycles and automobiles are organizing from the east and west coasts. The Springfield/Branson Airport reports no flights available beginning midweek and no rental cars can be found within a 50-mile radius of the town, population 6050.

Following the journey and experience of Welcome Home is Lou Reda Productions, an award-winning documentary production company. Producer / director Sammy Jackson will follow the event to create a special entitled Homecoming to be released on the History Channel later this year. Best-selling author and Vietnam veteran Robert Vaughan is serving as a spokesperson for Operation Homecoming USA and is an associate producer of Homecoming. Associate producer Shirleen Sando, president of Skyward Publishing, is also publishing a companion book of the same name.
