I was with A 1/7 during that operation. I think I was the radio man that called in the air strike for my LT. that day. (I was a temporary radio man). The air strike I'm thinking of resulted in a crash.
The jet took ground fire after it completed it's bomb run. It did a right hand turn out (I can see this after all these years as I write this), got hit in the tail with ground fire climbed straight up. Both crew got out o.k. as I recall I saw two good shutes.
