RE: RE: LOOKING for anyone who served with PFC Kevin McArdle KIA 18 Aug 1968 E/2/7 (Maj Kelly Houlgate) (Anthony)ajka12352@seznam.cz
I read this post with sadness, but as I read the cnomemts I felt further compelled to say more. I know Rudy well. I grew up with him and have known him since he was little. I realize that everything that I say here may not agree with everyone, however please understand this is not about you or me, but about Rudy, his family, and what they hold dear.Rudy was a man who believed in God. He believed in the truth of the Word of God. He believed in the right of personal freedom, the freedom that this country stands for, and the freedom that he ultimately died serving to protect. He believed in the freedom of others to believe what they choose, even it if wasn't what he believed, even if they were wrong. This Jonathan Phelps, Westboro Baptist Church? They are no more right, in their hateful conduct, than the homosexual movement that they claim to protest against. The Scriptures clearly states that homosexuality is a sin against ones own body, yet those same Scriptures teach that we are to love our neighbor, to show compassion to those in need.Rudy was a Follower of Christ. He believed homosexuality was wrong. Yet, he served among and ministered to those who were gay and showed the love of Christ to those he came in contact with. He served as a Medic, healing physical bodies, but his true desire was to heal the heart of men.Men are given a choice in this life. To choose good or to choose evil. There are some that choose the way of life, and there are others that choose the way of destruction. As individuals, we choose our own responses to the situations we find ourselves in, in-spite of what Jonathan Phelps does.In closing I want to say this. I know the Acosta family is grateful for the support of the community of Santa Clarita. However, I think they would be grieved as well if there were signs promoting a homosexual lifestyle. Can we honor them in this way and refrain from pushing or countering any viewpoint? Please do not form a counter-protest . Instead, Show your love and support for the Acosta family and your appreciation for the service that Rudy has rendered to this community and nation by dying to protect it. Overwhelm the hate of the Westboro Baptist Church with your love, shame them with silent dignity. Honor him and bless the Acosta family with your support at his funeral.May our Lord bless you all. 0 0
