L/Cpl. Wheat was formerly a member of the 106RR Platoon, H&S 1/7 in 1965 but transferred to Delta 1/7 (at his request)and later KIA. I was the Plt. Commander of the 106RR Platoon and regarded L/Cpl. Wheat as an extremely fine Marine and an Asset to the Plt. I direly hated to lose him.
