I remember that night. I was a 106 guy sent out with an M16 on that op. When we were overrun my squad was assigned to plug up the line at the breach and bring the wounded back to a position where they could be protected. I was the guy, perhaps there were others I don't remember, who watch over the wounded in case there was a second attack.
I remember one guy who had bandages over his eyes. I don't think we knew the extent of his injuries at that point. I remember that we could not get medevac helicopters in for a day or two after that.
Were you the guy with the bandaged eyes? I remember that he used his finger to write out on his hand the word "home".
