He was in our platoon from sometime in the fall of 1966 to I think about April of 1967 when he hit a booby trap while walking point which cost him both his legs below the knee. He lived in Los Banos Ca. He joined up with Pete Cicatelli, Tom Kamataris and Pastor Raul Ries twice. Once to help Pastor Ries make his documentary, "Taking the Hill" and once to accompany Pastor Ries to Camp Pendleton and MCRD on a speaking tour.
He was in bad shape in the hospital after being admitted with a cold and there, in December, he cleared the wire outbound on his last patrol.
