| As I remember there was a Black Marine who was Dowds aid.......Don't remember his name but as I remember he carried a grease gun and was on R&R when Dowd was killed...I came through right after the Colonel was killed and saw him there laying on the ground....Went on a couple of patrols with him days prior to his death over to D Comp. even did a little security for him once up in a tree with my M14 as he and other officers had a pow-wow at the base of the tree.
