I was a corpsman with Fox 2/7 1st plt. We were with all of the companies in a blocking force when one of the companies got hit..people kept yelling for "corpsman up"..I responded and ended up with a another company in a huge firefight. Many of the Marines I crawled over to had been shot in the head. There were green tracers being shot all over. No corpsman...just me and a Lt. who had been hit in the arm...When a chopper came in it couldn't land with corpsman or to p/u casualties due to B-40 Rockets being shot at it. The Firefight lasted all day...and then I went back to my company who was still sitting in blocking position. I never knew or forgot which company I was helping...anyone remember?
This isn't for a ptsd claim...just for the memories of an old "doc" who remembers this one tough day with lots of KIA's & WIA's and Heat casualties and no other corpsman to help. But I do remember one courageous Lt. who saved the day...just don't remember unit or name...Thanks. John "Doc" Baker Semper Fi
