Edward known to his friends as "Wolfie" was KIA from multiple fragmentation wounds while agressively attacking a NVA Bunker. Wolfendale's bravery was finally recongnized by the United States Marines Corps when his mother was presented with her son's Silver Star Medal on 10 November 1999.
